Dear RSPB Scotland, we call on you to start working in Scotland’s best interests

Lisa Woore General News

Dear RSPB Scotland, having delayed the NnG offshore wind farm for three years, we call on you to start working in Scotland’s best interests

Last week your long-standing legal challenge came to an end when the Supreme Court in London rejected your application to appeal, stating “..the application does not raise an arguable point of law of general public importance..” Scotland’s highest Court and the UK’s Supreme Court have now both rejected your application to appeal.

In the three years that you delayed this project, NnG could have displaced over 1 million tonnes of CO2, making a very significant contribution to the Scottish and UK Governments’ climate targets. 2,000 jobs would have been created as well as the start of a £827 million cash injection directly into Scotland’s economy.

Today we call on you, RSPB Scotland to work constructively with the project developers to take this important infrastructure project forward in the earliest possible timeframe.

This is vital for Scotland’s environment and our economy.

Now is the time to work together to make this happen.

Yours,

The NnG Coalition
